Maizie Lorna Windass

This is a little name cube I made for my brand new cousin Maizie Lorna Windass this summer, she's gorgeous of course, and hopefully this will be something she can keep to remember her childhood :)

A lace lit room? yes please...

Inspired by my new surroundings, which I recently discovered include a healthy crop of mould under my window and a sparse light bulb with a crude white shade, it dawned on me there must be some better options. I found this beautiful lampshade made from vintage doily's, I love how beautifully it casts the light and shadows across the room.

How sweet are these little jam jar lights? They could easily be made with fairy lights for summer garden parties and festivals too :)

I thought this lamp had a really interesting structure and the cards made it a bit cool, although it does look like it could sit quite happily in most 14 year old boys rooms...

My search for lamps dwindling I was lead astray by these darling floating vases, if only I had a kitchen with natural light/ could open my curtains without getting gail force drafts?

Although only three weeks and two days have passed since I received my student loan, due to unexplainable costs and expenditures, I have no other option but to conclude that there must be some small goblin creature sitting in Halifax's vault nabbing my dollar, (this I assure you is the truth, the same thing has happened to my friends and their loans) and thus I no longer have the resources to purchase any of the items featured.. Fl/hl


I thought this was a bit interesting? Reusable/Repositionable wipe clean wallpaper so as soon as you get bored you can move it round the room/house/squat... Definite win.

But as much as I love Urban outfitters £45 is not an amount I would be readily parted with in exchange for what is effectively a white washed picture frame (charity shops across the country, 50p) and some Blackboard paint (£3.70 for 250ml).
If anyone knows anyone who has purchased this, please take their money off them, they're obviously not dealing with life very well.

Obscenities of a homosexual nature..

Last week a US supermarket censored an issue of US weekly because it had a picture of Elton John, his husband and their new born baby (Zachary).
Here is the happy family :)
I thought it was horrific the store decided to this due to 'several customer complaints' and to 'protect youngsters', however it was soon removed it due to the outcry it caused. However what I found to be more disturbing were that the most highly rated comments on the post were in favour of such homophobic censoring! The worst rated comments on the site, strangely enough, are those condoning such a horrific attitude and calling for equality, really America? Welcome to the modern world.

Goodbye 2010

I would like to say I spent my NYE here, however that would be a little lie.

However 2011 started with a successful night of messyness and good amounts of free champagne and cocktails in little old Canterbury.

Wishing everyone the best for the coming year and joy in the sales :)

When a new year arrives it's nice to think that all your mistakes/embarrassments can be pushed aside as being so last year, even if it was but a week ago that you slipped over on the bus/wore that horrid combination of salmon cardy/chipped nail varnish.

Ebay Binge/Russian Doll Fixation

Had a bit of a binge earlier, but have found some little treasures to go on the wish list.
Decided I need to get some russian doll accesories, I found this gorgeous ribbon (:




Also would like some russian doll pattern fabric please father christmas? I had a look on e-bay but it's all pretty expensive, might have to print some myself ...
I thought this one was a darling.
Maybe some little cushions or purses would be nice. Definately would make a good bag lining ...
